  • Yes — especially in challenging network conditions.

When you connect your iPad to the simulator computer with a USB/Lightning/USB-C cable, iOS creates a direct IP tunnel (like a private LAN cable). This gives your device its own IP address, bypassing Wi-Fi entirely.

On strong Wi-Fi, performance differences are minimal.

On weak or congested Wi-Fi, the cable avoids radio interference, router bottlenecks, and firewalls — resulting in smoother, lower-latency updates..
    - With USB, traffic flows straight between device and X-Plance, with no chance of being blocked or filtered by the network.
